WELCOME TO THE RAINBOW ROOM
TODDLER PROGRAM!
We are very delighted to welcome all of the new families and friends to our Rainbow Room Program! We are ready to start another school year discovering new things and having lots of fun while learning.
Hi! My name is Lisa Gaudet and I am the Lead teacher in the Rainbow Room. This begins my 7th year at ChildsPlace! I am the mother of four wonderful children. I hold a certificate in Early Childhood Education and am currently working towards my degree in Early Childhood Education at Great Bay Community College. I have truly loved growing and learning with every student I have had at ChildsPlace. Each year becomes a new adventure full of fun and falling in love with my new friends. I am looking forward to a new year in the Rainbow Room.
Hello! My name is Virginia Hamilton and I am happy to introduce myself to you as an assistant teacher in the Rainbow Room. I reside in Seabrook with my daughter Abigail. Abigail in enrolled the Pre Kindergarten this fall here at ChildsPlace! This fall will mark my second year at ChildsPlace. I have enjoyed working with the children as I watch them learn and grow. I am looking forward to providing your children with the same safe, fun learning experiences they have enjoyed with you! I look forward to meeting both you and your child as well as getting to know each of them as individuals. Please feel free to come to Virginia or myself with your ideas, questions, or concerns. Welcome!
We are excited to start a new school year in the Rainbow Room. We will be introducing many activities that will further develop a wide range of skills including social, emotional, language and physical development.
Sincerely,
Lisa & Virginia
“During my time as a teacher, I have learned that I not only
touch each child’s life in a special way but that they also touch mine.”
CIRCLE TIME
Circle time is a joyful time for toddlers. The children develop language, memory and social skills while exploring new concepts. Story time is enjoyed while friends sit together listening to stories that focus on the theme being highlighted. Flannel board time is a favorite - especially when it is the child’s turn to put the flannel piece on the storyboard! Songs and fingerplays are shared while children join in to sing along and follow the teacher’s fingerplays and actions. Participation is encouraged during circle time and repetition of its components helps children foster language and memory skills.
ACTIVITY TIME
Weekly themes are reinforced through hands on projects during activity time each day. Each project is designed to broaden the children’s base of experience with the understanding of the weekly theme. New concepts and activities are introduced with an emphasis on the development of listening skills, fine and gross motor skills, creativity, eye-hand coordination and social skills. Science, nature, math, reading, social studies and multicultural concepts are incorporated into our activities. Teachers and children gather in small groups where they explore and create with a variety of materials. Children are encouraged to let their self expression and creativity shine! Bulletin boards around the classroom display unique colorful activities that the children have created. Children are excited and proud to show family and friends their masterpieces on the walls each week! Be it painting, cutting, gluing, coloring, building, cooking or designing - you can be assured that activity time is always new, exciting and educational!
