MARCH NEWSLETTER
Greetings Families!
March roared in like a wet soggy lion and we’re hoping to see it trot out like a lamb on a sunny day! As the
snow continues to melt and the temperature continues to rise,, so do children’s excitement about the upcoming Spring weather.
During February we kept up our enthusiasm for the snow and cold with help from Mary Doane of Project
Nature. Mary provided February’s in-house field trip in the form of dramatic storytelling and making clay animals. Her central story was “Stranger in the Woods” by Carl Sams and it inspired a renewed love of winter and the fun it has to offer. Later in the February we celebrated a month of pro-social skill teaching with festive Valentine’s Day
celebrations. Throughout the month classrooms focused on important social preschool themes such as friendship, fairness and sharing. It is always rewarding to see the children apply these concepts as they share treats made at home and take turns handing out cards they created for a special friend. The end of February also brought an end to our mid-year Parent-Teacher Conferences. Of course, you are always welcome to schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher at any time. February was scheduled to end with a school-wide Pajama Day on the last Friday of the month. Unfortunately, the rain storm resulted in a change of plans for everyone. Pajama Day has been rescheduled for Friday, March 5
th.During the first half of March two important items will be placed in children’s mailboxes for parents.
ChildsPlace is dedicated to continuously improving the quality of the programs that we offer. In early March please
be on the lookout for Parent Quality Surveys in your children’s mailboxes. These surveys provide you with an
opportunity to let us know how we are meeting your and your child’s needs as well as an opportunity to let us know
what areas may need additional growth. This year we have also added a section that highlights our most recent
growth and asks for your feedback. Also going home in student mailboxes is information about an art opportunity we are trying for the first time. “Original Works” is a program in which children create a piece of art and parents then
have an opportunity to order magnets, potholders, notepads, etc. that feature this original art! These items make
wonderful Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts! At the end of the month, Fall Registration forms will be sent home. More
information regarding fall programs will be available soon.
Finally, we would welcome nutritionist Mary Sue Sanderson to the ChildsPlace plaza. Mary Sue is a registered
dietician who has been helping children, adults and families in New Hampshire for over 20 years. Mary Sue will be
sharing an office with Miracle Farms Speech Therapy and Capable Kids and welcomes children, adults and families to seek her help in managing health and nutrition challenges (such as picky eaters and nutrition concerns). Please feel free to stop by the office for additional information. Keep Warm!

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.
